3 Day Group/Individual Combination Course

The 3 day Group/Individual CISM combo training program is designed to present core elements of a comprehensive, systematic and multicomponent crisis intervention curriculum. The three-day course prepares participants to understand a variety of crisis intervention services including pre and post incident crisis education, significant other support services, on-scene support services, crisis intervention for individuals, demobilizations after large-scale traumatic incidents, small group defusings, and the group intervention known as Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD). This course specifically prepares participants to provide several of these interventions, specifically, defusings, Crisis Management Briefings, CISD and individual crisis intervention. The need for appropriate follow up services and referrals when necessary is also described. This training counts as completion of both the Basic CISM and Individual/Peer Support CISM courses.

The Group/Individual CISM program is open to any person who wishes to know more about crisis intervention techniques such as the CISD. Professionals from the fields of emergency services, school, security, hospital, safety, corrections, military, EAP, industry, human resources and mental health are typical participants.

The training is approved for 27 hours of Continuing Education through the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus, and for 27hours or 2.7 ceus based on 10 contact hours per ceus in Texas for EMS, TCLEOSE, LPC, LMFT and Social Work.
